The result is a simple, plant-based ice cream made with just a few wholesome ingredients and no refined sugar, while delivering an incredibly smooth texture and delicious flavor.

Perfect for anyone looking for a unique and nourishing alternative to traditional ice cream.

Why Black Sesame?

Black sesame is considered one of the most nutrient-dense oil seeds. Like white sesame, it provides:

  • high-quality plant-based protein
  • healthy unsaturated fats
  • calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, and copper

The main difference between black and white sesame lies in the seed coat. Black sesame is typically consumed unhulled, which means it retains more fiber as well as a higher concentration of beneficial phytonutrients. These include anthocyanins and other antioxidant compounds that give the seeds their characteristic dark color.

Compared to hulled white sesame, black sesame also contains higher levels of several minerals. It is particularly rich in calcium and magnesium while also providing valuable amounts of iron, zinc, copper, and manganese. These nutrients support healthy bones and muscles, contribute to normal blood formation, help maintain a healthy nervous system, and play an important role in energy metabolism.

Combined with its healthy fats and antioxidant plant compounds, black sesame is a nutritious addition to a plant-based diet. Its rich, nutty flavor pairs beautifully with both sweet and savory dishes, including ice cream, desserts, salads, dressings, sauces, and spreads.
